Housing Initiatives Unique Approach to the Madison Homeless Problem

SBA Donates to Housing Initiatives “Big Share” Campaign

For over 20 years, Housing Initiatives has ended homelessness for 600 people with mental illness by providing them with a permanent, supportive home.  Just since 2015, Housing Initiatives has brought over 65 more men, women, children and veterans in off the streets by creating 53 more units of affordable, supportive housing.

Housing Initiatives is currently raising funds to purchase a building that will provide housing for 8 more homeless people suffering with mental illness.  This project will provide much-needed office space for their growing team.  Committed to making a difference and giving back to the community, Steve Brown Apartments donated $500 to this important cause on Big Share Day through The Big Share by Community Shares Wisconsin.
