SBA Gives is proud to support Madison Reading Project and their Big Red Reading Bus campaign:
Thanks to a year-end grant from Madison Community Foundation (MCF) and matching sponsorships – including a “Mini Bus Sponsorship” from Steve Brown Apartments – the Madison Reading Project’s dream of developing a specially outfitted vehicle to transport books and materials to events and schools has become a reality!
The Big Red Reading Bus hit the streets on May 30, 2019, and is giving kids the opportunity to pick up some books to read over the summer. The bus will go to neighborhoods, libraries, schools, parks, community gatherings and hometown festivals to spread the love of reading one mile at a time.
For more information about the Madison Reading Project, or to support them by donating books or ongoing expenses for the Big Red Reading Bus, check out their website.
Madison Reading Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, provides underserved children in south-central Wisconsin with quality books and programming. To boost literacy rates and increase book ownership, our nonprofit provides programming at our partner locations* and diverse book selections for children to select themselves. We partner with 65 partners from schools, after-school programs, social workers, and early head start programs to reach children ages from birth -12 years old.
