The Orpheum Theater was originally built as a vaudeville venue and a “Movie Palace” era movie theater, The Orpheum Theater first opened its doors on March 31, 1927.

The theater, now a centerpiece of Downtown Madison, features nationally-renowned musicians, comedians, speakers, and other acts in a large, yet intimate, theater-style venue.

The Orpheum’s fall 2018 calendar features a wide variety of shows ranging from musicians like Jason Mraz, to speakers like William Shatner and authors such as DeRay McKesson, to all-star comedians like Hannibal Buress, and even a magic show from world-renowned illusionist Rob Lake.
